LAND OF FESTIVAL

 Myanmar people   are known for their desire for fun, which is evident in round-the-year festivals, celebrated and enjoyed throughout Myanmar. Myanmar is popularly Know as the Land of Festivals because of the countless religious and cultural festivals that take place all year round.
Festivals can be divided into two types, nation wide and regional. Myanmar culture is closely related with Buddhism, most of Myanmar Festivals center around some religious events.

The most popular and nation-wide celebrated festival is the water Festival, which marks the end of present year and coming of a new year on Lunar calendar.

Others famous and enjoyable festivals are –

Hot Air balloons & fireworks festival ( Taunggyi Tazaungdai )

In fering of monk robes as well as the releasing up fire balloons into the sky. Balloons in the shape of elephant, ox and horse are released during the festival. Taunggyi Tazaungdai is amazing and worthy of reverence.

 

Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda Festival

Phaung Daw Oo Buddha Images are in asset of five, cherished by Bgn Emperor Alaung Sithu and dedicated to five Buddhas of this planet Earth. These Buddha images are famous because many prayers came true, after praying at Phaung Daw Oo.

 

Taungpyone Spirit Festival

Getting into the spirit of Taungpyone village located about 20 km north of Mdy, during its famous nat festival. Held each year during the six days leading up to the full moon day of the lunar moth of Wagaung (usually August), the event draws hundreds of nat-ka-daw and thousands of pilgrims and revelers from throughout Myn who are attracted to the mix of religions ceremony and county-fair atmosphere. For many, Taungbyone is the most important spirit festival of the year.

Nayoun (June)

     As the season changes to Gemini
          jasmine and muleibuds,
       blooms and pollins,
           strew their fragrance about.

Waso ( July )

    its buds just out on the stems,
        the fragrant Callophyllum,
     king of the flower plants,
          spreads it's sweetness.

Wa gaung (August)

         The breeze comes softly
               in Leo’s season.
     Right, Left, wherever one looks.
   land lilies with their pollins spread.
