The Strand Hotel - built in 1901 the Strand is recognized as a national landmark. Renovated and reopened in 1993, it is located on Strand Road just across from the shipping areas on the Yangon River. A lovely lobby and bar sit below the two levels of very large and graciously appointed rooms and make for an intimate and old style colonial experience. Food and service are excellent.
